ENSLAVED DESIGN is a small group of creatives that excel in different areas of marketing, design, photography and web management. We strive to offer a range of design services that will meet different budgets and brand management requirements.
We aim to provide design that promotes an understanding of you and your business. However, we understand better than anyone that design is subjective and our vibe might not be right for your jive.

Before we get started though – every artists process is a little bit different, get the keynotes on us below. If your looking for our trading terms, which includes everything you did (and didn’t) want to know about pricing, refunds and returns you can read all those here.
HOW (AND WHEN) WE WORK
We love our clients – so we always want to make sure we have enough time to spend with them. That means we can’t always take on more contract work. It’s not because we don’t want to – it’s because we don’t want to rush you or your brand and give you something you’re not 100% happy with.
ENSLAVED DESIGN is available outside normal business hours. We are unable to correct, build, design or distribute files or finished artwork during the hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. That’s weird, right? The creatives at ENSLAVED DESIGN all hold down full time jobs in our respective fields. It means we’re exposed to more scenarios that make us better marketers and designers but it also makes us a little bit harder to connect with – this is reflected in our rates.
If the marketers & artists have leave coming up that might interfere with the completion of a project – we’ll let you know in advance, usually at the time we give you an estimate.
To provide you with a design or plan that suits you and your brand – we’re going to have to get to know you. To do that we will send you a brief sheet for every new project we start together – so we’re both singing from the same songbook.
ENSLAVED DESIGN will provide an estimate project outlined in the brief. If you need to amend your brief part of the way through – no problems, we will provide you with an updated estimate of cost and time based on the changes to your brief.
Acceptance of an estimate or proof is acknowledgement of our process and terms of trade.
MERCH
ENSLAVED DESIGN can facilitate groovy merch for you and your brand – but we only go as far artwork and dirty-work. Any problems with the finished product will need to be raised with our third party directly – but in the unlikely event that occurs – we’ll help you there too.
WEB
ENSLAVED DESIGN are not web developers – and at the moment we don’t have any on staff. However, we do know our way around platforms like WordPress pretty well – and we have built several successful websites based on WordPress scaffolding, like ours. It’s important to know – we can only work within the confines of a program like WordPress. If you’re after something completely custom – we might not be the right stop for you, but we can still provide your developer with custom made graphics to their specifications.
If you do want to go with a WordPress site that’s a great choice. WordPress is a content management systems that lets you login and update your own website saving you money. If we build you a WordPress site – we give you all the passwords on handover and she’s all yours! You can, of course, contract us for updates and maintenance in the future if you like.
REQUIREMENTS
We’ve been doing this for a while, in fact we have over 15 yers experience in this sort of stuff. So it makes sense we’ve made some friends. We have a preferred host that we will set you up with if you need help in this area. We’ll retain the hosting details to begin with – but when the sites approved, the hosts login details will be given to you during hand over.
If you decide to contract us to purchase and set up your hosting plan we will require your ABN number for any .com.au domain names.
If you are bringing your own hosting – we need it to be CPANEL hosting. If your not sure what that is, contact your provider to find out. To be able to build the site we will need the login to your CPANEL and potentially your host as well. Not all hosts are made equal – our preferred host is 100% Australian owned and operated, like us. It means they respond quickly to problems so they reduce site downtime. It’s never too late to make a change – if you are unhappy with your host or just haven’t used them much – we can migrate you to our preferred host. That we use every single day.
While not essential, ENSLAVED DESIGN recommends you register your business name as added protection against intellectual property theft. This doesn’t replace TradeMarks or Patents but it does help your case.
If you are looking to sell goods online, you also need PayPal for Business account. We will need your PayPal website token and the email address your business account was set up under.
E-commerce is a dangerous business nowadays – that’s why we’re going to quote you for an SSL security certificate as part of the build. This will give you some coverage in the event that your website is skimmed or hacked. It’s important that you are aware that levels of coverage differ between certificates and if your site is doing a lot of business – you might need more protection down the track. It’s also important to note that SSL coverage is an annual cost.
We’ll send you a brief sheet for your web design – the entire scope of the project and what elements you are able to provide us at the start of the process.
THE BUILD
Websites are important – but they’re tricky. Even on a simple website there is a minimum of 15-20 hours work involved getting to the proofs stage. E-commerce website let you sell your goods online without the need for a shopfront – they’re great, but they take considerably more work
What we’re trying to say is that website aren’t built over night – a simple one can take 4 weeks. The more information, text and images you can provide us during the brief stage – the quicker your website will be ready.
Problems with websites do occur on the side of the host – ENSLAVED DESIGN is not liable or accountable for any host side problems or outages – even if it’s our preferred host. It’s just one of those things that’s out of our control.
HACKING
Some people have WAY too much time on their hands. And the cruel fact is – if someone wants to get into a website, they will.
Over the years we’ve implemented several practices to mitigate the risk of hacking:
- All ENSLAVED DESIGN websites are quoted with an SSL certificate
- We use PayPal as the payment gateway for our commerce sites. You can still pay by card, but the entire transactional risk is taken by PayPal – not you personally. Your site will not store any financial details
- You’re going to hate your username and password – but it will help keep your site safe. We encourage you not to change it, but if you do, make sure it’s something equally ingenious (and complex)
- We install backend security on ever site – it tracks failed logins and allows you to block nasty IP addresses
Even with all these precautions, any web based property is still susceptible to hacking. ENSLAVED DESIGN is not liable or responsible for loss of data or income that is the result of hacking or skimming.
ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE
Hey, accidents happen. We know that, and we’re here to help. But it’s important to note ENSLAVED DESIGN is not liable for any accidental damage or erasure of data from the site. After the site build is complete ENSLAVED DESIGN will only use their login when contracted to do so by you, the client. Problems occurring outside contracted maintenance are not the fault, responsibility or liability of ENSLAVED DESIGN.
A FEW DISCLAIMERS
Colours appear differently on screen to when an item is printed. Factors to consider are how an item is to be printed (plate or digital press) and what stock the item is to be printed on. EENSLAVED DESIGN is not responsible for any discrepancies or variations in print work. If you’re worried about this – your not alone. Please ask us about adding a production sample to your quote to make sure we represent your brand perfectly every time.
We pride ourselves on producing something you will love – but we need help from you to make sure it’s perfect. Please review proofs carefully. Acceptance of a proof signifies the information is correct and no further changes need to be made. ENSLAVED DESIGN is not responsible for any errors found after a proof is accepted.
